Who is Altitude? The people behind the Sheffield PR Agency

We’ve been a team of four for about a month now, so we wanted to take the time to introduce ourselves.

Altitude is made up of Director Jane Whitham, Adam Reeves-Brown, PR and Communications Director, Rachel Measures, Account Manager and Max Haley, Account Executive.

With more than 40 years’ experience in PR, journalism, events, marketing, and copywriting, there’s a vast range of expertise shared amongst the team.

Here’s a bit more about each member.

Jane Whitham

Jane Whitham

Heading up Altitude, Jane has worked in PR roles for 15 years but before this she was a professional journalist writing for regional and national publications.

Jane said: “In 2008, I exited journalism and moved into PR working for two different national charities and running campaigns with Sir David Attenborough and environmental celebrities like Charlie Dimmock! In 2012 I decided to set up my own PR agency with a colleague. Cream Consultancy operated for six years and during that time provided PR support to some of Yorkshire's best-known businesses.”

In her education, Jane studied at Coventry University receiving a BA Hons Communications Studies degree. She is also a Member of the Chartered Institute for Public Relations and has recently completed a Small Business Charter and Sheffield Business School Help to Grow Management Course, a five-month long government-funded course with Sheffield Hallam University.

This all makes Jane the Queen of strategic thinking; she is always looking at the bigger picture when it comes to PR strategies and PR consultancy and has a range of skills in marketing, B2B PR, consumer PR and much much more.

After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Media Studies and Journalism, Adam has worked in media, communications, and PR roles for 10 years. He even worked in the PR industry in London and Manchester before he relocated permanently to Yorkshire.

Adam brings a wealth of knowledge to the team with broad campaign experience and a strong understanding of various sectors including the built environment, regeneration, placemaking, retail, sport and travel.

He said: “PR moves fast and the deadline-driven environment keeps me on my toes. No one day is the same. My 9-5 still races by, even after 10 years in the industry, and I've never stopped learning.”

As a creative thinker and proficient copywriter, Adam is an efficient content creator, helping largely with PR strategy, content creation, editorial and thought leadership, and award consultancy.

Rachel Measures

Rachel Measures

Rachel, an ambitious PR graduate, started her career in events, working at both Sheffield Hallam University part-time as a student and then at the University of Sheffield full-time. After this, she moved to PR, building valuable agency, in-house and B2B PR experience.

Her strengths are in copywriting and social media, with a keen eye for detail and an interest in helping her clients with their communication strategy. She is also responsible for helping the team with their press office services and media monitoring.

Rachel said: “I love working with a wide range of different businesses across a number of industries, gaining a wealth of experience working on each account. I love being able to help businesses shout about the great things they are doing, especially in the charity sector!”

Max is one of the newest members of the Altitude Team. Using skills developed during his Politics & Sociology degree, Max works with clients from a range of industries. He brings creativity and innovative thinking to all of his projects.

Max said: “This is my first job in PR. My previous experience includes a number of hospitality jobs in both London and Sheffield. My most recent job before Altitude was as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in the SEND department at Bradfield School in Sheffield.”
