Jane Whitham,
Director

Jane leads Altitude and has worked in senior PR roles for 15 years. Before making the switch to PR, Jane was a journalist writing for regional and national publications. Jane began planning Altitude PR in the summer of 2021 (mid pandemic) and launched the business in February 2022.

“We get to unlock potential in ambitious businesses and help them grow. That's an enormous privilege. I love the variety in my role and the many different businesses, organisations and people we work alongside. I enjoy leading the Altitude team and building an energetic new brand.”

Jane has a wealth of experience in PR and communications, working for several big names in the industry including News of the World, The Mirror, and The Star, as well as spending three years based at Sheffield Crown Court covering the region's biggest court cases.

“In 2008, I exited journalism and moved into PR working for two different national charities and running campaigns with Sir David Attenborough and environmental celebrities like Charlie Dimmock! In 2012 I decided to set up my own PR agency with a colleague. Cream Consultancy Ltd operated for six years and during that time provided PR support to some of Yorkshire's best known businesses.”

Jane has a BA Hons Communication Studies from Coventry University, as well as being a Member of the Chartered Institute for Public Relations (CIPR). Jane recently completed a government-funded course at Sheffield Hallam University (Sheffield Business School) called the Help to Grow Programme.

“I love running and have completed two half marathons. I trained for Manchester Marathon and got to distance but suffered a foot injury a month before the event. One day I will complete a marathon! I’m Yorkshire born and bred and love the fact you can be in a city one minute and 20 minutes later you can be in the hills.”
