Barnsley Museums – Brains in a Dish & Tutankhamun Exhibitions Case Study

Barnsley Museums represents a brilliant collection of museums spread throughout the borough. The exhibitions encourage visitors to explore the people and places of Barnsley.

Brief

Barnsley Museums needed PR services to introduce and generate interest in its Tutankhamun exhibition and the Brains in a Dish exhibitions, as well as wider Barnsley activity due to take place around these.

Our Activity

We provided strategy and PR planning including the development of media messages, media engagement and releases in the run up to the exhibitions. Our work also included media monitoring/analysis and creating videos to encourage journalist engagement.

Results

For the Tutankhamun exhibition, we generated a lot of interest in the press with coverage in over 35 different publications, organising key interviews with the BBC, the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Bylines.

For the Brains in a Dish exhibition, we liaised with The Lancet and other key health, arts and dementia publications.
