Shawton Energy, part owned by investment bank Lazard, is a renewable technology provider that delivers large-scale commercial solar energy solutions for businesses.
Its clients include Princes Group, Kings Cross Estate, BMW, Starbucks, Bannatynes and DHL.
Brief
Shawton Energy wanted to build trust and visibility with potential customers and investors.
They required strong, technical content for their own channels, as well as B2B media relations to educate stakeholders and create the conditions for investor confidence and business growth.
The company also needed case study production to build a credible evidence bank to support business development.
Shawton wanted a consistent drumbeat across trade media and social media to build confidence and drive engagement.
Our Activity
Working in partnership with Shawton’s CEO, marketing and sales teams, Altitude devised a high-impact strategy which complemented the business’s growth strategy.
We developed attention-grabbing key messages for different stakeholder groups and set about implementing the strategy. We engaged with energy media, journalists within their key verticals and media focused on UK investment and growth.
As part of our work to build evidence and drive credibility, we developed case studies and worked closely with Shawton’s clients. We explained, via case studies, how Shawton creates value and executes at scale. We put the business at the heart of solar energy conversation.
Results
Media outreach resulted in hundreds of articles in high-quality publications and on sites with strong Domain Authority. Visibility increased across the board, but particularly online. Twinned with LinkedIn activity which drove engagement and follower numbers, website referrals increased. The business is receiving feedback from new clients about its strong, penetrative brand presence. Shawton Energy has since been acquired by ADE, one of the fastest growing companies in the UK renewables sector.
