Happy New Year

NORDIC diets, miraculous exercise programmes, work/life balance secrets, special introductory offers…

The internet is awash with pathways to a healthier, more mindful, and energised you.

Why do we do this to ourselves every January?

Change isn’t just for the turn of the year. To be effective, change must be continual. Read that again.

Yes, we’ve got to start somewhere but if we never stop then we don’t need to re-start. Sounds easy but I accept this isn’t always the case (especially when it comes to lifestyle changes).

At Altitude, we’re all about momentum in an upwards direction. The clue is in the name. 😉

Whenever I look to instigate change within a business setting, I turn to Kotter’s 8 Step Change Model which remains one of the most powerful business theories. It’s so effective it’s woven into the very fabric of Altitude and how we approach client work.

John Kotter, Emeritus Professor at Harvard, and best-selling author, describes in easy-to-follow steps how leaders can successfully implement organisational change.

Altitude stands side by side with clients to help them navigate change. That’s what PR is all about.

Good communication is the oil that makes the wheels turn. That’s how we help businesses grow, tap into their potential and really shout about the great things they are doing.

Here’s a reminder of the 8 steps to change.

We can help you put this into practice.

Hopefully this article is helpful and if anyone has successfully applied Kotter’s model to lifestyle changes, let me know. It could be the biggest thing in 2023 and a welcome end to miserable Viking-inspired diets. 😊

Happy New Year,
Jane Whitham (PR Director)
